Application & consent
Each coach completes an EBYFC application and signs a consent/release form. The application must be complete and include a signature and photo. Returning coaches with an application on file complete an update instead.
Volunteer
Every Lions coach is badged, certified and background checked before they step on a practice field. No exceptions.
Tell us what you would like to help with and we will get back to you.
EBYFC Rules
All coaches, football and cheer, must complete a coaches’ clinic and be a member of USA Football. Every coach must be badged before July 1 or before taking the practice field, and must wear the badge at practices and games. Violations bring a fine and possible suspension or expulsion.

Football coaches certify with USA Football; cheer coaches certify with the National Youth Sports Coaching Association. First-time coaches attend a clinic; returning coaches renew their membership. Every coach completes a background check through a league-accredited service.
Youth Safety
The EBYFC is committed to a safe, positive and supportive environment for every participant. Background screening is how we make sure the adults in leadership and supervisory roles meet that standard.
Volunteers helping with concessions, event setup or other roles without direct youth supervision may not need screening.
EBYFC uses the California Department of Justice Live Scan system for fingerprint-based background checks, which search criminal history records through both the California DOJ and the FBI.
Fingerprint-based checks are the most reliable form of background screening and are what schools, youth organizations and volunteer programs commonly use.
